Catalogue Complete

<***************>

Here's the completely textured "Catalogue".
Texture took an hour in total due to the fact that my computer decided to crash things midway.

But anyways, hurrrrr:

Not too shabby, eh? This also showcases some dynamic lighting features implemented in the game (technical talk).

oh yeah about 90% through i realized that there was no door. fml lol.

The Catalogue

<********>

A model of a museum like thingy.
It's rough, 616 polys. Must texture it still.

It follows the theme of the buildings with the "spiked" roof essence.

Practice

<*****>

Well, I got really bored and I didn't have any inspiration for game related aspects, so I just modeled the lamp that was 2 feet in front of me for practice.

The time lapse, took me 5 minutes:

Yeah, it's from IKEA! That store is great.

new stuff being modeled

<*******>

hey its donald,

just here to show you what ive been working on. Mainly I've just modeled a bunch of weapons and stuff like that. So yeah... enjoy!! Oh yeah and one more thing, these are not finalized weapons. The are more like concepts of the models are gonna look like. And I havent textured anything so yeah... these are not final and they can be a lot better...just too lazy/dont kave much time to texture.

This was just a basic pole axe i created. This next one is more complex and looks illogical for slashing but when i created it, I intended it to be more for stabbing but slashing is still possible.

blah

<*******>

I really dislike posting empty posts, but I vowed to keep this blog alive. And so I am, one way or another.

I really wish that I wasn't the only one posting work by their own will; things would be more motivating and productive if there was more contributions. But I'll try hard to keep pushing on.

^^

Classification

<********>

From now on, I'll flag "empty" posts with orange asterisks *, and ones with considerable amounts of progress in them with blue *. The amount of asterisks will represent the amount of importance the post actually contains, according to me of course. With orange 15 is the highest, 5 is the lowest (for visibility). For blue, 25 is the top, 5 lowest.

So people who are looking for serious progress and not just my blurbs of everyday life can skip right to the progress by zeroing in on blue asterisks.

As you can see, this post is orange.

More summer school things to do. I might just have some extra minutes towards the end of the day to conjure up something, who knows.

No progress today(so far). Gotta work on summer school homework, which is easy, but time consuming...

Summer put to rest

<******>

Due to summer school, the progress I have been yearning for this summer has gone down the drain. True, I can still work after I get home from summer school, but there is no inspiration level then. I get most of my motivation and inspiration when it's midnight and I have nothing else better to adhere to, but now I have to sleep early in preparation for summer school.

...

But keeping my spirits high ^^
Granada, here I come.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

uhh

<*****>

*update*

Summer school tomorrow, damnit. Gonna slow down the progress, since I: need to sleep early, need to take 5 hours away from my day.

ResT1 Timelapse

<**********>

For the concept model, it's really rough and high poly, but hey, its made. Here's the time lapse, real time: 15 minutes. Texturing it is gonna take forever.

Saturday, saturday

<************>

Ah, the weekend, no different than the weekdays, though, considering its summer break.

Like Donald said in the post underneath, we are progressing in programming scripts, otherwise known as coding, for the game. Everything down to what color the dialogue text needs to be coded, so its a large task.

Anyways, here's yet another concept drawing of a war machine created by the USA, UK, and Iran. Why those 3 countries, well that's more of a storyline related detail.

scripting progress

<********>

In the scheme of things, i have scripted some bits. What I did was scripted an npc's conversation. There is isnt much and it not gonna be a part of the real game. It was just to show that we have some progress in actually scripting the game. We'll get started on the real scripting as soon as possible. But for now we we will just create some models and some concpet art, etc...

Gen's Clock Tower

<****************>

From now on, I'll try to make time lapse videos of all my models' creations.

Here is the clock tower creation video from the concept picture two posts down, which will go along with Gen; rough real creation time: 7 minutes.

After texturing, which took about 20 minutes. I dislike texturing, it takes so long.

Stillife

<**********>

This concept is of people who were incarcerated as stone statues of angels, and break free only to tread the Earth with confusion.
For now, they are "Stillife", of course derived from the art of still life, which portrays a symbolic meaning.

Again, I left out how it corresponds to the game's story because its too long to type up.

Gen

<************>

A rough concept art I drew up for the starting zone. It involves the model posted in the post below. The idea is a gateway type thing that does stuff that...is cool...and yeah.

Everything has a beginning

<********>

And that's why I've remodeled the primary spawn point for players today for the game. I won't provide the nerdy concept stuff, 'cause that's just not me. But there is indeed nerdy concept stuff. I'll leave you with a screenshot.
fyi: All of the images so far in these posts are in-game realtime shots, not 3d renders.

Building Buildings

<*********>

Like I predicted, I did not post yesterday. But I did think of some ideas, if you want to call them that.

I've modeled up a rough idea for the buildings. Random pillars of rocks shot out on top, giant glass windows, and polished granite walls. The last 2 details correspond similarly to American business building design.
The concept is that the buildings are steel- and diamond-reinforced, out-layered by fine Himalaya granite and crusted by stone only found in Cenduit-Horo.
Don't worry about the suckiness, once the shaders are implemented, the windows and walls will shine. Again, this is just a rough concept. This building is misplaced, planned to be put in with others in a town.

Designer's block

<********>

I have a general layout for the starting zone, but I can't think of how I want the buildings to look. I don't want those generic medieval houses, nor those super sci-fi ones, since with time travel people would have found better but reasonable technologies, so yes...building mood and tone is a must. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some inspiration while I drive upstate.

Might not post tomorrow.

Happy 4th

<*****>

It would be logical that there would be no progress today, its the 4th of July. Just going to be chilling with fam.

Friday, July 3, 2009

Don't quote me on this.

<******>

I have vowed to keep this blog updated everyday I can.

Well, nothing has progressed much today, since I actually have a life and went to the park with my friends and then went to my friends house and played his 6 guitars, haha.

Yes, so, nothing new, but this is considered an update, and I bet you will see many of these empty updates.

Let's start here

<************************>

Hey, so, I've decided to keep a blog on the progress of the projects of Phantasq Productions. Namely, Adroit Theorem, a multiplayer role playing game.
Adroit Theorem's concept foundation is based on time-travel and all the advantages and disadvantages that tag along with it. For a full storyline, email me at supernovadonuts@gmail.com or IM over AIM at wheeitsmichael.

Like many blogs, this one is prone to not being updated for centuries.

I'm just going to start off with a zone picture of Cenduit-Horo, a giant-floating landmass in somewhere.
